Interior Design. Hospitality. Spiritual Formation.

When you show hospitality,

you are participating in an ancient practice spanning generations and across continents and ethnic groups.

Welcoming someone in, offering them food or drink, tending to their needs and caring about who they are - this is not a new thing, but I wonder if it is somewhat lost, or perhaps has been overcomplicated, at least in my part of the world. Hospitality is more than we think and less complicated than we sometimes make it. I truly believe living a life of hospitality leads to an abundant life - not one full of riches or possessions, but of depth and relationship, of beauty and connectedness. I hope that through this site you can find the encouragement you need to consider hospitality in your own life as we journey toward being formed into people of Love, practicing the way of Jesus and living a hospitable life that reflects the hospitable heart of God.

May our welcome - our hospitality - reflect the great Welcome we now know in part and will one day experience unhindered.

Amen.

My name is Alexa and I am glad you’re here! I share stories and reflections and offer workshops focused on hospitality, interior design and spiritual formation. I believe that hospitality isn’t limited to our homes; but to be hospitable is a way of life, a way of moving through the world and engaging with those around you. I also believe that hospitality and our homes have a special relationship, and I enjoy exploring the role of hospitality in interior design. How can the design of our homes help us to be more hospitable people? How can it help us create spaces of belonging, of meaning, of beauty that points to Hope? In addition to renovating our cottage, we are cultivating our land at Philo - our 10 acre property outside of Atlanta where we are creating a beautiful and hospitable place that fosters belonging and connection with God, self and others.

I’m a disciple, a maker and aspiring flower farmer and a thousand other aspirations. I’m journeying through marriage and being a parent with Brandon and mama to Gideon, Noelle, Hosanna and Galilee. I love celebrations, deep conversations, hiking and college football…go Buckeyes forever!

I’m glad you’re here. Now let’s get to it!
