Uncertainty & A Reason To Hope

I keep having this mental picture of the world holding its breath. Every day waking, unsure of what will be found.

We are all holding our breath, anticipating something, we don't know if it is good (though we hope) or bad (which we fear). Lately though, we've woken to a third option, a more inconclusive one. We simply just don't know, so we sit in anticipation with uncertainty as our companion.

We are vulnerable. So vulnerable. The reality of it is startling, uncomfortable and strange, but really isn't this how we've always been? The veil is being torn down, not to harm us but to help us. If we know we aren't in control, that we are in need, then maybe we will humble ourselves. If we know we have need, maybe we look for who can help. And if we are looking for the Helper, then we will see our vulnerability is actually our strength. Like newborn babes we will cry out, and those cries will be heard, tended to and nurtured. We will be comforted. We will know love.

God is near to the brokenhearted. His heart is soft toward those who call upon Him in need. What a gift. What a reason to rejoice. What a reason to hope.
