Wood Stoves & Faulty First Impressions
When I first saw this wood stove at our new house I only saw the stone color that I didn’t like and immediately thought “can we get rid of this?”
Thankfully, I came back later and took a minute to really look at it. To consider its role in this house.
I noted the floral details. The black granite on top which has now become my inspiration for the kitchen countertops.
And several people have said that this one stove could heat much of our main floor.
Small, yet mighty.
It needs some refreshing. Some cleaning up yes.
But now I can’t imagine the house without it.
I share because this was a good reminder for all of life. For people, relationships, our experiences, and so much more.
Sometimes our first look doesn’t take in all the details, and we need a second one. And then, just then, maybe we will actually see the beauty that had been there all along.
