Room Prayer Cards

When creating spaces of meaning and beauty, we often forget the most important part: prayer.

I wholeheartedly believe in creating a home that shouts to the glory of God - not because of what it looks like, but because of what happens within it. And whatever good we desire to happen in our homes (or any place), requires that we first pray.

After I completed a project in Birmingham, I was trying to come up with a meaningful gift for the family to end our time together and celebrate their new space. That is when the prayer cards came to be. I knew that no matter w hat I did, the most impactful thing any person can do for their home - and life - is to pray. I love creating spaces with beauty and depth, I enjoy the design process, but I know that is merely one part. The places we dwell can transform us and often, prayer is left out of that process, but it is in prayer that true formation happens.

So, the directions are simple: go through each room, write down a prayer you have for that space, and keep these cards somewhere that you can access easily, so you can go back to them and note the ways God has answered your prayers. Don’t skip this part. It’s easy to forget to actually go back adn remember what you prayed, but it is in the remembering and bearing witness to what has occurred, that we find strength and encouragement.

While I created these for your home, they can be used in any space important to you. From your classroom to your office to your dorm, and anywhere else you regularly dwell.
