A Reminder: God Can Use Anything, Including Our Homes

GOD CAN USE ANYTHING.

Which is why I like to imagine that interior design can indeed be used to share the Gospel and bring us into the presence of God.

Prayer is essential to this. We must start with prayer so that we can create a space that glorifies God and serves others.

Create a comfortable space - and have fun with it. Add in those throw pillows, find your focal point, enjoy choosing your paint colors and art for the walls, tell a story with your home, I fully support - and encourage - it.

And while you do, pray unceasingly. Seek the Lord’s face. Imagine what He may want you to do with it. Imagine what He has in store. Whether it’s a living room, kid’s area, or office, the Lord desires to dwell with us in it all.

And where the Spirit is the Lord is, there is freedom.

Resurrection Sunday is a celebration of this - this freedom from our sin and all that separates us from God - but this celebration doesn’t end on Sunday.

We can carry it with us, even down to the design of our homes. We can thoughtfully create spaces that reflect His glory, that are purposed to welcome and serve others. We can create spaces motivated by Love, for God and for those around us.

Yes, God can use anything.
So let us give Him everything.
Even, or perhaps, especially, our homes.
